Good morning, gems! I know I've been on a bit of a hiatus lately (my apologies about that), but I swear, I'm back and I'm here to stay!
Where have I been? To put it simply, I've been trying to get my life in order. That sounds a little weird, right? I agree - how could I ever let my life get out of hand? For a girl with a severely type-A personality, your guess is as good as mine.
Let's start with the basics - I have a loving, hilarious family, wonderful boyfriend, fantastic yet challenging job and an apartment I've quickly come to love. I've been healthy, have had great opportunities and am falling in love with the Twin Cities more and more each year I live here. Overall, life has treated me well.
But if there's anything I have learned in the past year or so, life gets busy. Like, really busy. Busy to the point where I get excited to have a night in to do laundry. Where a Saturday or Sunday without plans is so unheard of I almost don't know what to do with myself. Or, as of last night, an evening where it's suddenly 2 a.m. and I have to wake up for work in 4 hours (seriously, pour me another cup of coffee today, please...) Key learning here = life is busy.
Over the past few weeks, I've really been trying to focus on what's important to me. Where do I want to invest my time? What am I passionate about? What makes me happy?
...hence my hiatus.
While it's an ever-evolving list, it's time for me to get focused on the things I (slightly, only for a little while) lost track of...
1. My health. From eating well to yoga, staying fit and healthy is top of mind for me.
2. The blog. I haven't been as consistent as I'd like to be, but I love posting! Let's make this a habit.
3. Italian. I studied Italian in college, and learning and speaking the language made me incredibly happy. It's time to hit the books again (literally) and brush up on the language.
4. Quality time with Jack. After a huge promotion (congrats, darling!), Jack and I see each-other less than we used to. Spending time together (i.e. lots of dates at home and elsewhere) is a must for us.
Let's do this together, shall we?
I feel better already. Goodness gracious I've missed you. Have a great day, loves.
xo,

Love this and I can so easily relate. Sometimes our schedules make Casey and I strangers in the night, a quick kiss goodnight and then up to do it all over again at 6am. Quality time is so important, and is hard to come by these days!
ReplyDeleteCompletely agree! So hard to come by, but so incredibly important.
